Join Rebecca Katz, founder and director of the Healing Kitchens Institute at Commonweal, with Dr. Anna O’Malley (Coastal Health Alliance) and Chef Catherine McConkie, (Healing Kitchens Institute core faculty), for an informative, experiential, and enjoyable day learning about taste and flavor!
The workshop begins with a group circle where you will be invited to explore your relationship with a cornucopia of colorful whole foods and your expectations around taste and flavor. Then we will form small groups to prepare recipes from these ingredients and use the “taste and adjust” approach to experience now certain seasonings can be added to make a dish more appealing to a personal pallet. With this bounty of delicious food, we will join together for a buffet lunch and share our experiences.
We look forward to having you join us!
There are 25 openings for the October 4th workshop and we anticipate that it will fill quickly. Cost of the workshop is $85/person. Partial scholarships are available.
If you have any questions, please contact Shelia Opperman, 925.324.3076.
