Nancy Netherland

Director, Kids and Caregivers

Nancy Netherland is a mother of, and advocate for, two former foster children living with rare, chronic medical complexities. She founded Kids and Caregivers in response to the need for families, caregivers, and providers of chronically ill children to have increased support, resources, and information.

Earlier in her career Nancy did the internship for her MFT with the University of California San Francisco AIDS Health project, worked at California Pacific Medical Center in the Planetree Unit, and with Continuum HIV Day Services as part of integrative medicine health teams. She has also designed and implemented evidence-based health education and health advocacy training, outreach, and wellness programs for youth and families. Nancy serves on the State of California’s Medicaid Children’s Health Advisory Panel, the Cal-AIMS Workgroup for Foster Youth and Families, and the Family Advisory Council at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
